Join a team of 9 others rotating between Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital; working in the Intensive Care and Intermediate Respiratory Care units. Perfect for an experienced hospitalist with an interest in critical care.
Position highlights:

  • Manage critically ill COVID-19 patients in a 12-bed COVID MICU
  • Participate in all research activities on COVID-19 critically ill patients • Participate in all quality improvement initiatives in this new critical care unit • Participate in all education activities in Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine
  • Pulmonary/Critical Care attendings available for back up on night shifts
  • Rotate to Respiratory Intermediate Care (RICU) shifts on a regular basis for relief from PPE
    Position details:
  • 15 shifts per month; aggregate total of approximately 168 per year • 4 weeks of vacation
  • Day shifts are from 7am-7pm; Night shifts are 7pm-7am • Day and night shifts are split equitably – roughly 9 shifts out of 15 are overnight
  • Care for 18 patients in the intermediate care unit/12 patients in the intensive care units • EPIC EMR

    About you:
  • Board certified or board eligible in internal medicine
  • Passion for caring for critically ill patients • Interest in bedside procedures (we will train)
  • RI license or ability to obtain one • Ability to begin working in 2020
